Sandown Park

Sandown Park is a racecourse and leisure venue in Surrey, England, in the outer suburbs of London. It regularly has horse racing at the weekends, and also hosts toy fairs, car shows and property shows. Facilities include a wedding reception, go-cart track, 18 hole golf course with driving range, bar, gym, snowboard and ski club. Sandown Park has spectacular views over Heathrow Airport and London landmarks such as Wembley Stadium, The Gherkin and the London Eye.

Sandown Park lies 15 miles south-west of London just off the A307 in the town of Esher in Surrey. It stages 26 races throughout the year, including both flat and jump events. Home of the King George VI Chase and the Coral Eclipse.

The Flat Course is oval and run right handed. Races start from the far bend on the outside of the jumps track and then comes in to the inside track. A separate straight course runs across the middle of the oval and is 5 furlongs in distance. All the home straights are steeply uphill. The Jumps Course also a right handed oval is 1 mile 5 furlongs in distance. There are 11 fairly tough fences but the bends are easy.
